

SHREVEPORT, LA - Charles Larry Ford, age 76, passed away to be with his Lord at Grace Home Hospice on Friday, August 24 2012 at 5:00 am as a result of a brief illness. Larry was born in Camden, Arkansas the son of the late Lawrence Edward Ford and Ina Burton Ford of Panama City Florida.
Services will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012 at Christ United Methodist Church on 1204 Crabapple Dr, Shreveport, La. Visitation will begin at 2pm with funeral services immediately following at 3pm. Graveside services will take place at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Officiating will be the Reverend Tom Howe, Reverend Caroline Wilkinson and Dr. Pat Day. Honoring Larry as pallbearers will be Larry Ross, Rodney Hanson, J.W. Sartor, Matt Ford, Chris Ford and Ryan Ford.
Larry graduated from Winyah High School (Georgetown, South Carolina) and Presbyterian College (Clinton, South Carolina). He most recently was a very successful retail salesman at Dillard’s in Shreveport, St Vincent Mall. Larry was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and was a firm believer in Jesus Christ our Lord. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and was extremely proud and a supporter of all of his grand children’s activities and accomplishments. Larry was known for his great generosity extended not only to his family, but friends alike.
Larry was married to the love of his life, Beverly Parler Ford, for 54 years. Larry is survived by daughter Cynthia Jean Corey of Gulf Breeze, Florida, son Thomas Edward Ford (wife Pamela Gail) of Allen, Texas, and daughter Sarah Kelly Scott (husband Jody Scott) of Benton Louisiana. Larry is also survived by 5 grandsons, Thomas Matthew Ford, Christopher Dale Ford, Ryan Joseph Ford, Dylan Ray Scott, and Braden Cade Scott as well as 2 grand daughters, Mikayla Joelle Corey and Peyton Elizabeth Corey. Larry is also survived by his brother Robert Wayne Ford of Pawley’s Island, South Carolina.
The family would like to express their deepest regards for the compassionate care provided by the staff at the Schumpert Highland Critical Care Unit and the staff at Grace Home Hospice.
