Chizuko Takamatsu Austerfield passed away peacefully on April 9. She was born to Yoshinosuke Takamatsu and Inabe Tsuru in Tokyo, Japan on April 28, 1932. She was married for 54 years to M.Sgt. George Austerfield who preceded her in death in 2008.
Being an Air Force wife allowed her to travel and live in various countries around the world. She and George settled in Shreveport in 1976 where she became a member of Shreveport First Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was an avid seamstress, quilter, knitter and gardener. Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her sister Satoe, brothers Kaoru and Yoshiaki and daughter Patricia. She is survived by her family in Japan and her daughter Sherry Hylbom (Matt) and son Glenn Austerfield.
