Christine Dodd Bass of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on September 25, 2023, at the age of 70. She was born to Smith Dodd Jr. and Ellen Rachal Dodd in Shreveport on July 20, 1953. Christine, who was an avid gardener and animal lover, always had gardens overflowing with beautiful blooms, butterflies, birds, and wildlife. When she wasn’t tending to her flower beds, she could be found out on the farm, taking in its quiet beauty while collecting pecans from underneath the trees. To her grandchildren, she was Mimi. Mimi was an adventurer who encouraged and embraced the joy and freedom found in the delight and wonder of childhood with her grandchildren. She loved fiercely and gave freely with a joyful heart.
Christine was preceded in death by her brother Smith “Smitty” Dodd III and her parents. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Kathy, her children Jonathon Bass and his wife Stephanie, Jeremy Bass and his wife Pam, and Janna Bass and her husband Lander. Her grandchildren include Eathon Bass, Ayden Bass, and Lyam Bass.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, as the family is still processing Christine’s passing. Once a date and location has been determined, it will be posted and shared. Until then, we encourage you to light a candle, or leave memories of Christine that you feel up to sharing with those that loved her.
