

Shreveport, LA- Daniel McNicoll of Shreveport died Friday night at Pierremont Health Center after a lengthy illness. He was 55.
McNicoll, who graduated from Jesuit High School and attended both LSU-Baton Rouge and LSU-Shreveport, lived for more than 20 years in the Washington, D.C., area, where he held a variety of jobs on and near Capitol Hill. He returned to Shreveport four years ago.
Dan McNicoll enjoyed golf, softball and billiards and was known as one of the top players in his Capitol Hill pool league. A voracious reader on a variety of topics, he was known for a powerful intellect and for excellent taste in books, shows and music. He enjoyed exchanging ideas and influenced the musical tastes of dozens of his friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Daniel McNicoll, of Shreveport. He is survived by his father, Wade McNicoll of Shreveport, and his stepmother, Sharon McNicoll; his sisters, Carol Madere and husband, Pete, of Baton Rouge and Angela McNicoll of Shreveport; brother, Brian McNicoll, and wife, Lori, of Alexandria, Va; nephews, Nicholas Madere of Baton Rouge and Marty McNicoll of Alexandria, Va; nieces, Kathryn Elise Madere of Baton Rouge and Mary Kathryn McNicoll of Alexandria, Va.
The family will welcome visitors tonight, March 4, from 5-8 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral will be held in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, March 5, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
