A much-loved husband, father, son, brother and grandson, Daniel Taylor Roach, 28, of Winona, rode the streets of gold on the afternoon of July 12, 2015. Welcoming him home were his father, Rodney Roach, and his grandparents, Jimmy and Gwen Roach. Taylor is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Lake Roach, and his precious son, Levi Taylor Roach; his mother, Becky Roach; grandparents, Madison and Barbara Box; brother, Dusty and wife Nicole Roach; sister, Katie and husband David Pearson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leslie and Carrie Lake; brothers-in-law, Jerrod and wife Lindsey Lake, Justin and wife Sara Lake, along with numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Taylor was born Dec. 15, 1986, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and was raised in Stonewall, Louisiana, “God’s Country,” as he called it. His father, Rodney, built the widely known Double R Arena, and Taylor’s love for rodeo developed at a young age. His father taught him everything he needed to know about being a cowboy. Taylor was a member of Texas High School Rodeo Association where he met Jennifer. He competed in Region 5 and excelled in team roping and steer wrestling. He went on to Panola Junior College where he qualified for the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Finals. Taylor won numerous U.S. Team Ropings. He was also a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association where he filled his permit at his first rodeo in the steer wrestling. Taylor had an infectious smile and a heart of gold. He created friendships that were more like family. Taylor never met a stranger and made friendships immediately with all people he would meet no matter if it was at church or at the gas station.
After marrying the love of his life, Jennifer, he then moved to her hometown Winona. Taylor was employed by Bateman Construction in Lindale as a machine operator and heavy equipment hauler.
