Donna Louise Hattaway Clements was born August 15, 1953 in Delhi, Louisiana to Agnes and Don Hattaway. She retired from the Caddo Parish School system as a Cafeteria Manager. She loved and was loved by children of all ages.
Donna was extraordinarily full of love, life and happiness. Only the sun can compare to the light she radiated, wherever she went. She loved often, and with her whole heart. Her depths for kindness, care and compassion were immeasurable. There was nothing of greater importance to her than caring for her family. She was a gifted singer and seamstress and loved using her talents for the enjoyment and benefits of others. She was a lifelong dedicated Christian, and her love of the Lord was her greatest joy and strength. No matter the obstacles, she held strong in her unwavering faith in God. Donna was a beloved daughter, sister and the very best friend. She was an exceptionally special mother, who will be missed beyond words. Her very favorite role of all was being "Mamaw". She was truly the happiest when spending time with all "her babies", no matter how big they were. And she was just always so much fun to be around. Donna went to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the age of 70 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Jimmy Clements; children, Michelle Coffey and husband, Aaron, Chris Clements and Sarah Ensign and husband, Kevin; parents, Don and Agnes Hattaway; brother, Ricky Hattaway and wife, Karen; sister, Karen Burnell and husband, Andy; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, J.Y. and Laura Mae Hattaway; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Daisy Turnage; her grandson, Benjamin Carter Ensign; great-grandson, Caleb David Hawthorn; and nephew, Ricky Bryant Hattaway.
A visitation for Donna will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home & Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home & Park. Officiating the service will be Rev. William Sewell.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Cardiology and Nephrology Specialists and the amazing nurses in the Step Down Unit of Willis-Knighton Pierremont Medical Center, for their tremendous care and compassion. They are forever grateful.
