Born with a grace that never faded, Doris was known for her beautiful, elegant, thoughtful, loving, classy, and selfless spirit. She carried herself with quiet strength and a warmth that made everyone around her feel cared for and seen.
Doris devoted her life to serving others through her work, including her years at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Outside of work, she found joy in life's simple pleasures-
Especially her love for a good coke and hershey with almonds. Above all Doris lived for her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Otis W. and Mabel M. Elliot; sister Fabia E. Thomas and husband William Wallace Thomas III; husband and best friend of 66 years, William L. Thomas (Larry). Survivors are her daughters Denise Allison and Dedra Ash; grandsons, Brad Allison, Cody Allison and his wife, Meghan, Braylon Ash and Shane Bernard; granddaughter, Brooks Bernard; great granddaughters, Taylor, Eliza, Preslee, Avery, Micheal Ann, and Carlisle Ash; great grandsons, Parker, Ethan, and Jace Allison. She will forever be missed by her lifetime friends Margaret Corley, Roxan Baden, and Linda Morris.
A visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, located at 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108, on December 13, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Doris will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle spirit, and the elegance she carried through every chapter of her life. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the kindness she showed, and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
