

Dorothy was born on August 12, 1943 in Hot Springs, AR. She attended Woodlawn High School, graduating with the school’s first class in 1961. She married Ray Paxton, the love of her life, on May 1, 1964. She worked at Texas Eastern Oil and Gas and was a long-time employee of Poulan Weed Eater before retiring from LSU Shreveport. After fighting a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for 30 years, she went on to be with her husband who passed away on May 8th.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Paxton; mother, Elsie Stumme. Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory is one daughter, Lisa Giddens; two wonderful grandchildren, Chelsea and Paxton Giddens, who Dorothy raised as though they were her own. Other family members include one uncle, Jesse Sherman and wife, Betty; nephews, Brian Sherman, Terry Sherman, and John Petty; and aunt, Marie Burns LaTona; longtime friend, Elaine Cloud.
