

Funeral services for Dorothy Louise Anderson Salter will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with a visitation begin at 1:00 p.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. and will be laid to rest following the service in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating the services will be Dr. Michael Hawkins. Serving as pallbearers will be her family and friends.
Dorothy was born on May 11, 1926 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana to Harvey and Blanche Anderson. She married the love of her life Chester E. Salter on July 6, 1946. She loved working as a nurse for Drs. William Hall and Seborn Woods for over 33 years, always caring and loving her patients. She had a big heart and loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Gail George with husband Glen and Linda Loftus with husband Pat; her grandchildren, Glenessa George with partner Stacy Dillahunty; Greg George with wife Nikki; Jason Myrick; Kalli Wallace with husband John David; Step-grandchildren, Patrick Loftus and James Loftus; eight great grandchildren; her sisters, Mrs. Gerald Honea and Mrs. Mary Nell Dickson; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ann Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Billy R. Anderson, and a nephew, Gordon Scott.
In Lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 24, Stonewall, LA 71078 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929. The Family wishes to extend to the Garden Park Staff our greatest appreciation for the care and love they have given their mother during her stay at the facility. Also, the Amedisys Hospice Care Staff were very helpful as well as having a very caring and loving attitude in caring for their mother, for which they are very grateful.
