

Shreveport, LA Edith Brantley was born February 27, 1937 in Delight, AR. She has lived in Shreveport for 47 years. She was a member of the American Legion Aux #14, The Women of the Moose, VFW Aux #4588 and the 40 & 8 Chapeaux. Mrs. Brantley was an avid bowler and a certified Junior Bowling Coach. She was the owner operator of Shreveport Bossier Bingo and Party Supply.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Brantley will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015, 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brantley is preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Henry J. Brantley; her parents, Mae Belle and Lester M. Harris, Sr.; and a brother, Roland Harris. She is survived by her two children, Ed Bentrup and wife Lillie and Floy Rabinowitz and her husband Mike; the father of her children, Ernest Bentrup; her siblings, Floy (Tommy), Merlin (Vicki) and Kenneth (Alice); six grandchildren, Amber, John, Sarah, Danielle, Matthew, and Amy Claire. four great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Reed, Korey and Rhomen; step grandchildren, Janet, Emily, John and Michael; and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are John Bentrup, Matt Rabinowitz, Michael Barnard, John Barnard, Glenn Woodard, and Chris Baker. Honorary Pallbearers are granddaughters, Sarah Bentrup, Danielle Bentrup and Amy Claire Rabinowitz.
