
Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Edith M. Sanford, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Gene Nix. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
Mrs. Sanford was born on June 9, 1926 in Pensacola, FL and passed away on January 25, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. Edith held a registered medical secretary license, nurses and instructors license. She was a member of the Eastern Star, A.B.W.A. and a past member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Rebekas. Mrs. Sanford was a member of Shreve City Baptist Church.
Edith possessed a charming wit and a sparkling personality. She spread sunshine to one and all.
Mrs. Sanford was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Hazel Richardson Sanford; brothers, Milton Sanford, Jr. and Jack Sanford and nephews, Joe Sanford and John M. Sanford.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Edith are her nieces, Judy Emberton and Jan Burnham; nephews, Jeff Sanford, Steven Sanford and Kevin Sanford; cousins, Henry Sanford and wife Anne, Artie Nevels, Robert Maranto and wife Vickie, Douglas Blum, Pat Edwards and husband David. Mrs. Sanford is also survived by a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
Honoring Mrs. Sanford as pallbearers will be: Artie Nevels, Charlie Nevels, Danny Nevels, Zachary Sanford, Daniel Sanford and Robert Maranto.
