Ellissa Amaral Ford of Greenwood, Louisiana passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the age of 79. Lisa was born August 15, 1943 in Fall River, Massachusetts To Joseph, Sr. and Betty Amaral.
Lisa and Bill met while he was stationed in the Navy at Newport, RI., and were married June 6, 1966, in Fall River, MA. Lisa had a broad array of vocations during her lifetime including modeling, bookkeeping, school bus driving, Sunday School teaching, and running her own successful business, Lisa Ford & Associates LLC, a manufacturers service rep enterprise. She loved to travel abroad making several trips to many countries of the European Union. Lisa was an enthusiastic sports fan following and watching the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, and even finally adopted the New Orleans Saints as her football team of choice. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Joe, Sr. and Betty Amaral; brother Joe Amaral and wife Elaine all of Fall River, MA.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Preston "Bill" Ford; daughter, Andrea Braniff (Roger); son, Jason Ford; special daughter, Carrie Matherne (Mike); grandchildren, Morgan Fox (Randy), Mason Braniff, Jace Ford, Logan Lyons (Lauren), Nick Lyons and Michaela Matherne; great grandchildren, Weston Fox and Layla Lyons. She is also survived by her niece and nephew, Karen Brain (Ken) and Paul Amaral.
A Visitation for Lisa will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 for 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road 71108. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 PM. Officiating the service will be Rev. Joe Bob Alexander and Bro. Billy Flowers. Interment will be in Centuries Memorial Park.
