

Shreveport, LA- Life Celebration services for Oma Baker will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Bro. Chuck McInturf will officiate. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests from 5PM to 7PM on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Funeral Home.
Florence Oma Pierce was born on Thursday, November 1, 1928 to D.Q. and Ineva Pierce of Goldonna, LA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved to quilt and crochet and took nearly every opportunity to add to her collection of masterpieces whether at home or alongside her quilting church friends. Her many adventures included camping, fishing and taking trips with her church group to Branson among other destinations. She fell into Jesus’ loving embrace on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the tender age of 87.
Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Allen Baker, her parents, and her brother E.J. Pierce. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Tommy Baker (wife La Juan) and Bill Baker (wife Janice), her sister Adell Durbin, her brother William Pierce (wife Katherine), her grandchildren Stacey Steen (husband Robert), Jason Baker (wife Cheri), Teresa Sepeda (husband D.J.) Kim Williamson, Galen Baker and Dewayne Baker, her great grandchildren Kelsy Baker, Jordan Baker, Lauren Sepeda, Alan Sepeda, Dugen Hayes, Regan Williamson, Kaycie Baker, Brook Baker and Megan Baker as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
James Wright, David Pierce, Robert Pierce, Galen Baker, Dan Pitts and Dewayne Baker will serve as pallbearers for Thursday’s service. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Baker, D.J. Sepeda and Robert Steen.
