Gavin Ryder Kinsey was born on December 11, 2020, and placed in the arms of James and Rachal Kinsey, of Shreveport, Louisiana on December 17, 2020, just a week after his birth. God knew that Gavin was meant to be placed in their arms from the moment he was created. Gavin passed away peacefully in his home on October 09, 2023, while he was sleeping. Gavin was the sweetest baby who made everyone’s day that he came across. He loved to snuggle, be held, and loved to eat strawberry ice cream most of all. He traveled the world and saw many new places in his short little life. Gavin was the toughest little fighter as he was born with many medical complications. He and his mother fought such a long and hard fight together teaching many people along the way many life lessons. He taught medical professionals how to communicate with families, that not everyone is a textbook case, and that he mattered most of all!
In addition to his parents, Gavin survived by his big sister Kaley; big brother Evan; paternal grandparents Mike and Heidi Malmay; maternal grandmother Karen Caraway; maternal Great grandmother Peggy Caraway; Great Aunts Sandra Rosson; Brenda Caraway; Uncles Anthony Lester and son Matthew Martin, Derek Bartels and son Daemyn Bartels, Aunts Miranda Crow and husband Chase daughters June Malmay, Juliana, and Juliet Crow; Cameron Holdman; Private Nurse and dear friend Jessica Welch. Gavin was preceded in death by his paternal Grandfather Philip Kinsey.
The family would like to thank pediatrician Dr. Nikki Humphries; Nurses Shelly Baker, Shaquerra Brown, and Lucille Smith: Phlebotomist Feleitha Hughes and Veronica Scioneaux, and office staff, at Willis Knighton Pediatrics for their love, passion, and amazing care they provided to both Gavin and his family throughout his short life. They would also like to thank all his dream team Early Steps Therapists Leslie Armstrong, Becca Butler, Brittany Lennard, and Cindy Champagne for pouring all the love, sweat, and tears along the way.
Visitation for Gavin Kinsey will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 14, 2023 followed by a funeral service 11:00 am Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, with Bryan Reed officiating.
In honor of Gavin the family is asking that you wear red as this was his favorite color.
