Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Geneva W. Cobb, 82, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Honoring Mrs. Cobb as officiant will be her grandson, Rev. Kenneth Cobb, associate pastor of Temple Baptist Church, Madison, AL. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday evening between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cobb was born on March 22, 1928, in Sabine Parish, LA to the late Andrew J. and Edna Brown Weldon. She left this life to join her Lord and those who have gone on before her on Thursday, October 7, 2010.
Mrs. Cobb was a loving mother, not only to her children, but to all she welcomed into her home. She was a charter member of Community Bible Church, an outstanding Christian, and member of the Eastern Star, Keatchie, LA.
Mrs. Cobb was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. J.B. Cobb, Jr.; granddaughter, Kathy Jo Cobb; brother, A.O. “Bud” Weldon; and sister, Genevieve “Jenny” Stewart. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Don (Judy) Cobb, Joe (Kathy) Cobb, Kevin Cobb, and Keith (Tara) Cobb; adopted son, Casey Conlay; brother, Swepson J. (Dorothy) Weldon; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Darin Fortenberry, Brandon Snead, Lee Kelly, Tommy Dison, Gary Melville, Ron Green, Charlie Adams, and Ross Oglesby. Honorary pallbearer is David Mason.
