

George was born on December 15, 1955 to Clarence and Florence Baker. George entered into rest on June 11, 2015 after a long courageous battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome.
George loved to fish, he was known to say, “I followed the moon a many a nights”. He also entertained everyone with his great story telling. Much of his inspiration for his stories took place on his travels as a truck driver. George retired after 37 years of truck driving. George was passionate about his love of truck driving, his family and faithful companion Buddy. He is dearly loved by so many family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathryn Gaines.
George is survived by his wife and best friend of 37 years, Becky; daughter, Erika Baker Rawls and husband Brian; grand-daughters, Racheal Lindley and husband Brandon of Goldsboro, NC, Haley Allen of Greenwood , LA and Shelby Hartley of Shreveport, LA; great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Mercer and Declan Lindley; brothers, Charles Baker and wife Gert of Saline, LA, Harvey Baker and Benny Baker of Jonesboro, LA and Bobby Baker and wife Mary of Keithville, LA; Sisters, Elizabeth Clark of Greenwood, LA, Ida Faye Stevens and husband Michael of Purcell, OK and Joyce Cordell of Jonesboro, LA; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Monday June 15, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Services will follow at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Monday June 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
Honoring George as pallbearers will be Chas Baker, David Lonadier, Jason Mabry, Brian Rawls, Tristan Wise and Bill Sellers.
