Services celebrating the life of George Wesley Davison, 88, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Pastor Denny Duron and Bro. Brian Opbroek of Shreveport Community Church. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

George was born on September 12, 1922 and passed away on August 20, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. He was a member of Shreveport Community Church. Mr. Davison graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1940 and then joined the United States Coast Guard where he served his country proudly in WWII. George was employed by Beard Industries and worked as a general foreman.

Preceding George in death were his parents, 2 sisters and 5 brothers.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of George is his wife of 68 years, Margery Davison; children, Don Davison and wife Susie of Shreveport, LA, Nancy Douvier of Shreveport, LA, Cathy Basham and husband Mike of Killen, Alabama, James Davison and wife Ann of Washington, D.C. and Carole Hardin and husband Bill of Bethany, LA; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Honoring Mr. Davison as pallbearers will be George Hardin, William Hardin, Mark Davison, Matt Conway, Brandon Sims and Peter Filipek.
