Gisela was born in Soest, Germany on April 4, 1947. She came to the United States in 1958 with her mother, brother and stepfather, who was serving in the USAF at the time. After an additional tour in Kaiserslautern, Germany, she graduated high school there in 1965.
Upon returning to the United States with her mother and stepfather, she lived in Idaho, Colorado, and Texas before making her permanent home in Shreveport.
Gisela has worked as a secretary/receptionist for different companies over the years. She had no family of her own but was extremely devoted to taking care of her ailing parents until their death. She loved her brother and always looked forward to spending time with nephews and their families during holidays and family get togethers.
Gisela was preceded in death by her mother, Ilse Amidon and stepfather Earl Amidon. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Klaus Dieter Amidon (Dona); Nephew Derrek Amidon (Candace) and their children Kaden, Rylee, Jordan and Cole; Nephew Daniel Amidon (Brooklyn) and their children Cody, Jacob, Emerson, McKenzie, McKayla and family friend Tanner Frazier. The family is extremely grateful to her dear friends Francis, Christy, and Carol, and her cherished canine companion, Abby!
The family extends their gratitude to staff at Willis Knighton
Pierremont, Heritage Oaks Stratmore and Gentiva Hospice for their care.
