SHREVEPORT, LA - Services to honor the life of Mrs. Glenda H. Coleman, 73, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Glenda’s brother, Dr. Greg Hill. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Sunday between the hours of 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. Graveside service will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Glenda was born on December 3, 1950, and passed away on October 2, 2024. She was a 1968 graduate of Fair Park High School and deeply cherished the long lasting friendships she made there.
Glenda taught everyone to treat animals as family, and was the favorite to every animal she met. She was so supportive and always the biggest cheerleader. She was the one that would decorate the house with the most extravagant holiday decorations and sweet smells and sounds of Christmas. Glenda was a lover of life and loved to travel, party, and most importantly, she loved her family. She was supportive, and treated the friends around her children growing up as her own. Glenda would have the most awesome game day spreads and spent hours and hours preparing meals for us. She made sure to practice old family recipes to be as close as could be to how Grandmother used to make them.
She was loved deeply by many, made an impact and is now back in the arms of the love of her life, Steve Coleman and her parents, and dancing a jig like only she could.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Coleman, her parents, Bill and Josephine Hill; and her brother, Gordon Hill. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Christy Brown and son-in-law, Casey Brown and Brittney Coleman and son-in-law, Andrew Easley III; stepson Shane Coleman; brothers Glenn and wife Pat Hill, Greg and wife Merle Hill, and Gary Hill; her beloved grandchildren, Zoe, Scarlet, Autumn, and Kaden; and her closest nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Belterra Rehabilitation, and nursing home in McKinney, Texas for all of their diligent care and compassion.
