

Gloria Risner Freeman, 80, of Shreveport, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt went home to be with the Lord and her precious Jimmy. She began her perfect life in His Kingdom January 14, 2016.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation with the family Friday, January 15 from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
Gloria was born January 22, 1935 in Florence, AL to Millard F. and Lola Mae Risner. She moved to Shreveport in 1942 where she met and married her one true love, James Collins Freeman in 1955.
Gloria was an active member of Springs of Grace Baptist Church for over 50 years and loved her church family. She retired from the Caddo Parish Registrar of Voters in 1990.
Gloria was preceded in death by father M. F. Risner, mother Mae Risner, brother Frank Risner, two sisters Lorriane Barrios and Ruth Sills, and her beloved husband Jimmy Freeman.
Gloria is survived by her sister Mary McDuff of Shreveport, her daughter Cynthia McGraw and husband Dale of Fate, TX, Her daughter Nancy Ilkner and husband Roger of Spanish Fort, AL, her son Frank Freeman and wife Deanna, five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous other extended family members.
Donations in memory of Gloria Freeman may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Springs of Grace Baptist Church.
