Hugh Levert Williams

Hugh Levert Williams “Nootsi” was born October 23, 1937 in Shreveport, LA. A memorial service, officiated by Rabbi Jana De Benedetti, will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 2:00pm.

Nootsi passed away November 6, 2016 at his home. He loved his family very deeply. He was a roofer by trade having worked at Industrial Roofing and Sheet Metal for 50+ yrs starting out as a helper. Nootsi was always creating something being very gifted with these things. He always enjoyed fixing or making something. His last project was a rat rod he built from the ground up. He restored the 1971 Mach I Mustang that he purchased new. He took great pride in adding the wing to his 2014 Z06 Corvette.

Nootsi was a member of River Cities Corvette Club and Red River Classic Mustang Club.

Preceded in death by parents Henry L. Williams and Evelyn Price; sister, Maxine Gray; step sister, Ruby Norman. Survived by wife of 57 yrs Ida Miller Williams; son, Shelby Byron Williams (Deborah); granddaughters, Elizabeth Danielle Williams and Laken Nicole Dance; great grandchildren, Anna Marie Wilson, Cadence Nicole Wilson, Justin Cameron Dance, Joseph David Dance; niece, Jodie Marie Jordan; half-brother, Travis Barnett; step-sister, Betty Jo Wilkes and step-brother, Allen Ray Strickland.
