Jack Garrard better known as “Paw” passed away March 20, 2016. He was married for fifty years to Mattie Ruth Garrard, who predeceased him on March 22, 2015, almost exactly one year ago.
Together, they raised three kids, Mike Jordan, Sr. (Rebecca), Pam Jordan Davis (Hollis) and Betty Jordan Cook, and played a big role in raising most of their grandchildren-Mike Jordan, Jr. (April), Bryce Davis (Mikisha), Cory Jordan, Delaney Davis, Aaron Cook, and Jarod Jordan. The great-grandchildren are Eleanor Davis, Brynn Jordan, Blayne Jordan and Michael “Tree” Jordan, III. Tina Jordan, Paw’s ex daughter-in-law, also remained a close friend to the end.
Paw served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy and then was an electrician at Camus Electric, where he worked until his retirement. Paw’s biggest joy in life came from following his wife around and doing whatever he could to make her happy, from driving to carrying her purse for her, to cleaning out the flower beds. Growing up, every Friday night was Steak Night as Paw proudly lit the grill and charcoaled the best ribeye you ever ate.
We take comfort in knowing that MaaMaa and Paw are together again and that Easter will be their first celebration in Heaven.
