As a young man, he worked at Marine Life in Gulfport, MS where he fed the dolphins and hitched rides with sea turtles. He started his career in the parts department at Bill Hanna Ford in Shreveport, LA. He became a parts manager for Peterbilt/Mac Trucks for many years before retiring.
He was a very giving and kind person. If you needed shelter or a place to lay your head, Jerold was there to invite you into his home. He always there to lend help to others especially his family. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing pool (winning many games). Jerold will truly be missed by family and friends who knew him most and treasured him.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jeri Smith; brother, Terry Barron; granddaughters, Sandi Atchley and Danielle Clark; grandson, Connor Smith; great grandsons, Adam Bennett, Christian Bennett and Raylen Clark; many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Jerold was preceded in death by his parents Bessie and Elmo.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to The Guest House for their wonderful care.
