Kelley Allen Lane quietly and peacefully left the body that was so ravaged by cancer shortly after noon on May 3rd, 2023 and slipped into the heavenly paradise that her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ had promised her. Kelley’s strong faith in Christ became reality for her in that moment.
Kelley was a very selective person in life, especially in choosing her life partner that she would share her existence with. When she met Steven Lane, she seemed to know immediately that he was the one that God had created carefully and specifically just for her. Kelley became Mrs. Steven Lane on March 8th, 2003. From that day forward their love grew and flourished. They were the perfect couple, admired, loved, and respected by everyone they met. They joyfully worshipped and served God together for 20 years at their beloved church home, Rose Park Baptist Church.
Kelley was born to Tommy and Sharon Allen on August 17th, 1976, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was God’s perfect gift to her parents and grandparents all of her life. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ernest and Pauline Allen and B. M. and Margaret Pierce, and her uncle Ray Pierce. Those left to cherish her memory are her Best Friend and love of her life her husband Steven Lane, her parents and many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of family, friends and coworkers.
Kelley graduated from Caddo Magnet High School in 1994 and went on to study at Bossier Parish Community College and LSU Shreveport where she graduated with honors and began the career she loved so much, teaching kindergarten at Summerfield Elementary School in Shreveport. Her kind heart, bold Christian witness and skill in teaching earned her much love and respect from coworkers and students alike.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Rose Park Baptist Church, 5560 Buncombe Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71129. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 am with Dr. B.J. Rocky Maddox officiating. Interment will be at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Honoring Kelley by serving as pallbearers will be her nephews Caleb Pierce, Jeffery Pierce, Will Pierce, Benjamin Pierce, Ryan Paulk and brother in law Daryll Paulk.
The family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the extraordinary care given by the nurses and staff of Christus Highland Hospital, the Doctors and staff at Christus Cancer Center and the nurses and staff at Christus Hospice. We also want to give thanks to all the friends and coworkers who visited and prayed for our precious Kelley during the final few days in the hospital.
