Ken was born in Ringling, OK on March 22, 1929 to Lee Roy and Ethel Byram. He graduated from Fox High School and spent a long and successful career in the oil and gas industry. He retired from National Supply Company in 1983 and went on to become an independent oil and gas producer. He loved the time he spent in the oil field and the lifelong friends that he made there.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother Bob Byram. Left to cherish wonderful memories of their time together is his wife of 64 years, Betty Jean Byram. He is also survived by his two sons, of whom he was so proud, Kevin Byram and wife Claudia, Kelly Byram and wife Kelly, and his grandchildren Ian, Hollis, Cameron, Kendall and Cade. His sister Peggy Burton and husband Jim, numerous nieces, nephews and close friends are also left to cherish his memory.
Some of his happiest times were spent with his family and friends at “The Pond” in Oklahoma. He was an active member of the Cornerstone Sunday School Class at Woodridge Baptist Church and a 32nd degree Mason.
Until recently he enjoyed bush-hogging on his tractor, working in his garden and tending his chickens.
Serving as pallbearers are his grandsons Cameron, Ian and Cade; nephews, Kenneth Byram and Ronnie Burton; and family friend Nick Pelliccio.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103 or the charity your choice.
