Visitation for Leonard E. Williford (or Buddy as his friends knew him), 74, will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home followed by a celebration service at 2:00pm. Graveside service will immediately follow. Officiating will be Reverend Mike Stringer, Sr. and Reverend Michael Stringer, Jr.
Mr. Williford died Monday, June 4 2018 at the age of 74 after succumbing to the effects of Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born in Center, TX and was a resident of Shreveport, LA most of his life. He graduated from Jasper High School and attended East Texas Baptist University. Mr. Williford attended Queensborough Baptist Church where he was ordained as a deacon and married Sandra Foster. He was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church where he was known as “Mr. Sunday School.” He worked professionally for AT&T for 33 years as a Production and Transportation Specialist. One of his great joys was serving on staff with Bro. Billy Crosby at Trinity Heights Baptist Church for 7 years. He was a wonderful, Godly husband and father. He loved everyone and was known for saying “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
Preceding him in death: Woodrow Williford (Father), Brooksie Oliver (Mother), Hazel Williford (Step-mother), two sisters, and two brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Sandra Foster Williford of Shreveport, LA, son Bryan Williford, of Dallas, TX, four brothers, three sisters, a close aunt, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many precious friends.
Honoring Mr. Williford as pallbearers will be: Tommy and Rusty Williford, Johnny Cubley, Van Anderson, Sandy Thompson, and David Carmical.
