
.Lula Mae Perot Scott, 96, passed away peacefully Dec. 24, 2014, to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to celebrate her first Christmas in heaven. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Legend Healthcare Facility in Euless, Texas. Visitation and memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 29, from 1-3 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport, La. If desired, memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.
Lula Perot Scott was born July 19, 1918, to Walter Perot and Laura Harper Perot in Converse, La. She spent most of her life in Shreveport. After graduating from high school, she studied bookkeeping at a business school and worked as a bookkeeper for many years. In 1939, she married Kermit Wade Scott. In 1941, their only child, Russell Wade Scott, was born in Shreveport. One of Lula Mae’s most fulfilling roles was that of grandmother to her two grandsons. She and her husband enjoyed traveling in their camper during their retirement years, visiting family and taking their grandchildren on camping trips. Along with camping, she enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Preceding Lula Mae in death were her parents, Kermit Wade Scott, her beloved husband of 52 years, her four sisters, Myrty Lou Perot, Rita Perot Bryant, Lois Perot Crosslin, Ottis Perot Smith, and her five brothers, Robert Perot, Roy Bryan Perot; George Perot; Louis Perot and Weldon Perot. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Russell Wade Scott, and wife, Sharon Scott, Bedford, Texas, grandchildren, Robert Wade Scott and wife, Leona, and Ryan Leigh Scott, Bedford, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jaia, Priya and Eleanore Scott.
