Mac Henry McPhearson

Mac was born October 17, 1934 in Longstreet, Louisiana to the late Abb and Ila Mae McPhearson. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and later transitioned to the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served in the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Alaska, Florida, San Antonio, and at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City. After his military service, he married Betty Ann Barber and they made their home in Joaquin. He worked as a Truck Mechanic for Tyson Foods for many years before retirement. He enjoyed his retirement working on his farm, taking care of his cows, hunting, fishing, and watching westerns. He loved spending time with his family and picking on his grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great-grandkids.

Mac was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Will Harris; brother, Ronnie McPhearson and sister, Dorothy Stewart.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Betty Ann McPhearson; son, Mac McPhearson, Jr. and wife Lisa; daughters, Kayla Marble and husband Bubba, Carolyn LaGrone and husband Dale, and Valerie Keele and husband Keith; grandchildren, Renee Metcalf and husband Johnny, Cody Walker and wife Jamie, Kerrie Harris and husband Shaun, Victoria Simmons and husband Jake, Josh McPhearson and wife Amy, Justin McGuire, Ryan Keele, and Kristi Skirlock; great-grandchildren, Ashley Whitaker, Hunter LaGrone, Jasey Metcalf, Lani Kendrick, Caleb Metcalf, Aiden Walker, Lincoln Walker, Madison Harris, Mason Harris, Levi Harris, Ezra Simmons, Eden Simmons, Kingston Simmons, Conner McGuire, Kendal Angelo, Kinsey Angelo, and Ross Keele; sister, Betty Jo Getsinger and husband Joe; sister-in-law, Gloria McPhearson; great-great-grandkids, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.

A visitation for Mac will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Ben Brittain. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park. Honoring the family as active pallbearers will be Ronnie Davis, Shaun Harris, Johnny Metcalf, Jake Simmons, Kent Hughes and Kelsey Hughes. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Harold Dockens, Aiden Walker, Lincoln Walker, Ezra Simmon, Kingston Simmons, Mason Harris, Levi Harris and Hunter LaGrone.
