Madeline Self

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy R. Self; her parents, Henry Y. and Rose Ellie Johnson; Grand-daughter, Lindsey Bowman; Brothers, Willard and Marvin Johnson; and sister, Evelyn Bledsoe.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Jimmy) Bowman, and Marsha Parchman; grandchildren, Rachel Bowman and Brent (Lauren) and Kristen Crawford; one great-granddaughter, Katelin Crawford; brothers, Henry (Laverne) and George (Ruth) Johnson; sister, Christine (J.T.) Laney, and sister-in-law, Nelda Johnson.

Madeline enjoyed sewing, crochet, collecting and sharing recipes, but her greatest joy in life was her family. She was undoubtedly the most giving and loving mother ever and we will miss her greatly. She always placed her family’s needs above her own.

The family will receive friends at Centuries Memorial on Mansfield Rd in Shreveport on Mon., Nov. 6, 2016 at noon, and funeral services will follow at 1pm. Burial will be at Centuries Memorial Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Briggs of River Park Church.

Pallbearers will be Brent Crawford, Mitchell Johnson, Doyle Bledsoe, Allen Traylor, Chase Garner, and Bradley Kent.
