Marjorie F. Bridges, age 83, of Shreveport, Louisiana went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 2, 2024. Marjorie was born September 14, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Derwood and Silve Gilbert.
Marjorie was an avid reader and enjoyed playing various games. She was fiercely loyal to her family and tirelessly provided for their needs. She is best remembered as a faithful member of Rose Park Baptist Church. She served the Lord faithfully for as long as anyone can remember. Even when her health deteriorated, she could always be found in her place of ministry. Her faithfulness was an inspiration to the entire church family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Derwood Gilbert and Silve Glasgow Gilbert; husband, Robert Bridges; Brother-in-Law, Charles Bridges; In-Laws, Lowell and Helen Bridges.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Bridges; sons, David Bridges and Michael Bridges; brother, George Gilbert and his wife Robin; sister, Eva Price.
A visitation for Marjorie will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM with Dr. B.J. "Rocky" Maddox officiating. Interment will be in Centuries Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rose Park Baptist Church, 5560 Buncombe Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana 71129.
