Funeral services celebrating the life of Marjory Claire McDaniel Nolley, 88, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Pastor David Daniels of Celebration Church, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery on Meriwhether Road in Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Marjory was born in New Orleans, LA on July 6, 1923 and passed away on September 30, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. She was a dedicated and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her great grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved them very much. Mrs. Nolley was co-founder of the First Assembly of God Church on Elysian Fields Avenue in New Orleans and held the office of Secretary Treasurer for 2o years. She taught Sunday School and was the Vacation Bible School director. She enjoyed sewing and was also a very avid gardener and enjoyed doing this with her daughter. Marjory was an accomplished canvas painter. Mrs. Nolley was currently a member of Celebration Church in Shreveport, LA.
Preceding Mrs. Nolley in death was Gail and Gary’s father, Walter E. McDaniel; the second love of her life Royal “Pops” Reverdy Nolley and siblings, Gwendolyn Bradley Blann, Madge Elaine Enis and A.D. Bradley, Jr.
Left to cherish beautiful and timeless memories of Marjory are her children, Gail McDaniel Lubas and husband David of Greenwood, LA and Gary Dean McDaniel and fiancee’ Cyndi Coleman of New Orleans, LA; grandson, Peter Alan Lubas of Shreveport, LA; 3 grandchildren, Breanna, Bryson and Brayden Lubas and beloved pet, Maggie Lou.
Honoring Mrs. Nolley as pallbearers will be David Lubas, Gary McDaniel, Rusty Ennis, Peter Lubas, Bob Pitre and Mark Blann. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Earl Blann and David Batson.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Celebration Church, 8856 Youree Drive, Suite D., Shreveport, LA-71115
