Jackie was born in Colfax Louisiana, to the late Annie Lee Ramsey Johnston and Seaton West Johnston. She married the love of her life Joseph Thomas Dice, Jr. in 1947 at the age of 19. Together they had a wonderful and blessed union that lasted 64 years.
Jackie and Joe raised eight spirited children. Jackie was a sweet, devoted wife, Mama and Granny. She taught her children and grandchildren to love and respect one another. She inspired her family to care for others as she did and lived her life selflessly. Her inspiration fostered 14 nurses, one surgeon, one Certified Nurse Anesthetist, and one fireman among the family. We are all caregivers because of her. She was a great cook and seamstress for us.
Jackie enjoyed being a faithful member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. She served in the St. Mary’s Ladies Guild and the Shreveport Women’s League.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Agnes Ann Dice; children, Rebecca Crawford, Mary Enloe, Vivian Mann, David Dice, Lisa Williams, Paul Dice and Michael Dice; 24 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Thomas Dice Jr. and her son, Joseph Thomas Dice III.
