Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Noah Tanner Randle, 22, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2012 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Beyer. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. A gathering of friends and family will be held at the home of Terry and Kelly Shields immediately following the funeral service.
Noah was born on January 15, 1990 and died a hero fighting to protect his friends on September 2, 2012. Noah is the only son of Dale Randle and Lynda Shields Petree. He is the stepson of Scott Petree. He is the only brother to Roxie Randle. We are all so proud of Noah’s love for others that he would lay down his life for his friends. In addition it was Noah’s decision to be an organ donor, and these wishes are being honored.
Noah walked into a home invasion where he saw his friends face down on the floor with guns pointed at them by two thieving cowards. Instead of leaving and calling for help, he chose to stay and become the help. He fought before being shot in the head. His friends had gathered for a birthday party.
Noah was preceded in death by his Paw Paw, Winfred Lamar (W.L.) Shields. We would like to think they are fishing together now on a golden pond in Heaven.
Left to remember his loving kindness and selfless acts of his everyday life are his Maw Maw, Helen Pate Shields; G-Dad and Mee Maw, Billy Joe and Laverne Randle; Uncles and Aunts, Lamar and Debbie Shields, Don and Neva Shields, Terry and Kelly Shields, Doyce and Becky Randle, Steve Randle, Kenny Randle and Mike and Diane Randle. His cousins will remember how fun he was. They are Stephanie and Nathan Shields, Cherise, Chase and Stormi Randle, Kristin Randle and Zach Randle. Noah also had many second and third cousins. His unbelievably handsome smile will be missed. His two dogs, Chopper and Ruby Dee will miss his love.
Noah attended South Highlands Elementary, Caddo Middle Magnet and Byrd High School. He loved soccer and playing on Coach Don Armand’s team from Kindergarten to sixth grade. He also played a season on the Byrd Soccer team. Noah developed a love for fishing, camping, hunting and golfing after high school. He fished at his mom’s and stepdad’s pond and with them at Toledo Bend whenever he could. He had a special attraction to alligators and was given the nickname, “Gatorboy” by his mom. Friends and family, you know what I mean.
Noah made so many friends during his short lifetime. There are far too many to list.
We would like to thank Eric and Ian Weiss for treating Noah as a part of their family and the girls who loved their Noah (that list is entirely too long to mention). His mom and dad would also like to thank his friends that comforted and held Noah after he was shot and until help arrived. To parents who can’t be there when their child needs them, that means everything.
Noah died a senseless death, all for a flat screen t.v., a computer monitor and whatever amount of money that was in purses and pockets. That’s all his life was worth to the thieves. To all the mothers, fathers and sisters with brothers, please call the Shreveport Police Department if you have information on this or any other violent crime. If you don’t call and you know the person that did the crime, then the next shot fired and person killed might be your child or brother.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office, Crime Victim Assistance Fund, 501 Texas Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71101.
