Nona graduated from High School in Coushatta, Louisiana May 26, 1944. She married the love of her life, Richard A. Ford, Sr. on December 21, 1946. Nona lived a full life. She is now with all her loved ones who have gone before her into Heaven. She devoted her life to being a homemaker and raising her family. Nona loved her church where she worked in the nursery and sang in the choir. She loved cooking and baking, especially for her family. In the late 60's she began working at the school cafeteria. Nona was also deputized in St. Mary Parish as a school crossing guard. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Ford, Sr.; mother, Milles L. Suggs; brothers, Royal, John, and Raymond (Jack) Suggs; grandson, Charles R. Ford, Sr.; granddaughter, Dawn Ford Stevens.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Teresa F. Vidos (Melvin) and Cynthia Ford Duval; son, Richard A. Ford, Jr. (Pat); grandchildren, Kristopher J. Vidos, Keaton L. Vidos (Kiley), Michael "Shane" Ford (Kristen), and Damon J. Duval.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Pavilion at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108 with Rev. Jeff Segner officiating. Interment will take place at Centuries Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the local Breast Cancer organization, 2015 Fairfield Ave., suite 2C, Shreveport, Louisiana.
