

Paula volunteered with the Rape Crisis Center. She dedicated 4.5 years to the center, spending countless hours helping woman of abuse. She also was a part of the Athletics Booster Club for Huntington High School for 4 years. Paula retired from Conoco.
Paula loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed gathering with them. She also enjoyed traveling, in particular she loved taking cruises to Mexico. Paula spent 20 years in Colorado, where she fell in love with the beautiful scenery.
Paula is survived by her daughter Dennie Averitt Giles and husband Jack; and son Robert Averitt; sister Paula Routon; grandchildren Tommy Giles and wife Megan, Colton Giles and wife Lauren, Austin Averitt and Drake Averitt; six great grandchildren; niece Stacey Waters, and her sons Maddox and London.
Paula was preceded in death by her father Herbert Ralph Smith and mother Bertha Bush; sister Sharon Chang and husband Ronald; niece Tina King.
A graveside service for Paula will be held Monday June 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108 with Bro. Paul Nevarre officiating.
