

He was born March 3rd, 1946 in Jennings, Louisiana to Eunice and Nolan Lacour.
Philip was a big light with an infectious personality; a kind and generous person, and playful loving soul. A lively jokester, Philip always teased and kidded those around him, but also deeply cared for those he knew and was a true gem in the eyes of those who knew him.
Philip was married to his beloved wife Margie LaCour for 53 years and together they raised their daughter Darlene LaCour, their son Lucien Vattel, and their grandson Jayden LaCour.
As a devoted husband, father, uncle, and grandfather, his family meant everything to him and he cherished the moments spent with them. He was a man who loved the simple life and the joys of good company.
Philip was brother to Richard Hill, who preceded him in death, and to Jean Maxwell and was a proud and loving uncle to her children Missy Maxwell and Paula Maxwell. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law James Maxwell and his nephew James ( Jamie ) Maxwell Jr.
Philip had a passion for electronics, cowboys, old-time humor and good moral sensibility and was proud survival specialist ( especially tornados and hurricanes ). He loved playing with his nephew and raising his wonderful children and being a good husband to his beloved wife. He treasured his family and friends and would always show up when needed.
Known for brightening a room and bring smiles to everyone around, Philip will be remembered for his kind heart, his infectious smile, and his unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for Philip will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM.
