

Ronald Ray Rivers, age 63 passed away suddenly on Monday, February 17, 2025 from a massive stroke. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Rufus Riddley Rivers and Barbara Norman Rivers. He honorably served in the United States Navy. Ronald worked for over 10 years with the Loomis Armored Services. In Shreveport, He worked for many years as a supervisor (pit boss) over the gaming tables.
Ronnie lived in Chalmette most of his life until Hurricane Katrina, when he relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana. He returned to Chalmette a year and a half ago to live with his brother Rufus Clifford Rivers.
Because of the Grace of God and his faith in the name of Jesus Christ, he is now in the presence of Jesus in Heaven. He is now reunited with his parents, Rufus Rivers and Barbara Rivers along with his grandparents.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, JoAnn Alexandria Berger and husband, Randy, and Linda Birdwell and husband, Charlie; brother, Rufus Clifford Rivers and wife, Maria; nephew, Jonathan Birdwell and wife, Amber and their children, Grace and Abigail; niece, Faith Barras and husband, Blaze and their children, Sophia and Laila; and his dog, Bear. He was also survived by many cousins and friends. Ronnie was loved and cherished by his whole family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Thank you to all who cared for him at University Medical Center in New Orleans and the LOPA personnel who assessed him for organ donation. Unfortunately he was not a candidate. We would also like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time.
A Celebration of Life Memorial for Ronald will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Haynes Avenue Baptist Church, 610 Haynes Ave, Shreveport, Louisiana 71105.
