Roy Lee Thompson Sr.

Roy Thompson, 82, passed away in his home surrounded by family on November 16th, 2023. Roy was born in DeQuincy, Louisiana to his parents, Charlie & Eunice Thompson. Roy completed high school and went on to become a father and begin a career in the oil field and drilling industry. In his free time, he loved to fish, hunt, play golf, spend time with family, and read the Bible every morning.

Roy Thompson had six children who brought him great joy and fulfillment in his life, his four sons and twin daughters: Michael, Roy Lee Jr., Kevin, and James, Kathryn & Kyrsten, respectively. Roy is survived by his wife of 29 years, Flora. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and countless great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.

We extend our gratitude to Heart of Hospice for all of the help and care. We would also like to extend our gratitude towards our family and friends for all of the love, support, and memories made throughout the years.

A visitation for Roy will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM until time for his service at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 356 Warriner Avenue, Blanchard, Louisiana 71037.

Roy will be laid to rest on the grounds of Memorial Gardens North, Dixie Blanchard Hwy, Blanchard, Louisiana immediately following chapel services.
