Ruth Veuleman Tibbit

Shreveport, Louisiana

Celebration of Life services for Mrs. Ruth Tibbit, 94, will be 10;00 a.m., Monday, January 31, 2011, in Centuries Memorial Chapel with Rev. Harry Forester and Bro. Henry Richerson officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, Louisiana. The family will be receiving friends for visitation Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Centuries from the hours of 4-7 p.m.

Mrs. Ruth Veuleman Tibbit was born September 11, 1916, in Many, Louisiana to the late Frank and Lula Margaret Walden Veuleman and was called to receive her wings January 28, 2011, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mrs. Tibbit was a devout christian, faithful to her church (Emmanuel Baptist) and sunday school class (Ruth). She always enjoyed the fellowship received at the Prime Time Luncheons. Mrs. Tibbit will be greatly missed and always remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandparent, and loyal friend to those who knew her.

Mrs. Tibbit was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; Roscoe James Tibbit, one daughter; Pat Flowers and husband Ray, one grandson; Brian Tibbit and all of her siblings. Left to cherish her memory and tell her stories will be one son; Ronnie R. Tibbit and wife Jean, one daughter; Jo Ann Bamburg and husband R.L., six grandchildren; Keith Tibbit and wife Amy, Dana Tisdale and husband Randy, Lynn Tibbit (wife of Brian Tibbit), Teri Parnell and husband Brad, Lisa Read and husband Brian, David Bamburg and wife Marny, eleven great-grandchildren; Matt, Lauren, Patrick, Ashley, Kassie, Grant, Austin, Clay, Alex, Andrew, and Anne Alease along with numerous extended family members and many great friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. James Jackson, the Corner Stone staff, and the Grace Home staff for the care and compassion given to Mrs. Tibbit in her time of need.

Honoring Mrs. Tibbit as pallbearers will be Keith Tibbit, Randy Tisdale, Brad Parnell, Brian Read, Matt Tisdale, and Alex Tibbit. Honorary pallbearers will be all her beloved great-grandchildren.
