

William "Bill" Victor Magee was received into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 27, 2017 at the age of 95 and will be laid to rest on December 2, 2017 in Shreveport, LA. Bill was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on September 2, 1922 to parents David and Violet Magee. He had 5 brothers, who proceeded him in death, and one sister still living, Violet Jean Mahood of Sudbury, Ontario Canada. Bill married his beloved wife of 69 years, Margaret "Mable" Magee who proceeded him in death.
Bill immigrated to America with his wife and two children, Mervyn Magee of Bossier, LA and Jean Bailey of Flower Mound, Texas. Bill became a proud American citizen May 23, 1961, and their last child, John David Magee of Argyle, Texas , was the first Magee in Bill's family to be born in America. Bill and Mable were also blessed to have in their lives, 8 grandchildren, 13 Great grandchildren and 1 Great Great grandchild.
Bill, who was a sheet metal worker by trade and worked in the shipyards of Belfast, had a fourth grade education. After immigrating to America, Bill established himself in Shreveport, LA where he started his company, Southern Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning. During his years of being a business man he was also on the Board of Directors of Shreveport Bank and Trust and a guest speaker at many different events.
Bill Magee was a dedicated man for the Lord and was one of the Founding Fathers of the Mexican Indian Training Center Mission in Cordoba, Mexico. Bill served on the board of directors and was acting president until his retirement . Through his faithfulness to God and his good stewardship, MITC grew exponentially and continues to grow and thrive as an amazing Mission for God's work.
Bill will be remembered best by all who met and loved him as a wonderful tenor , an amazing harmonica player, and for his sense of humor. His obvious love and dedication to the Lord made him a genuine joy to know.
Pallbearers for the service will be Mervyn Magee, John David Magee, Greg Bailey, Brad Bailey, Ryan Patrick Magee, William Sean Magee, and Honorary Pall Bearers: Dr. Bo Worley and Pastor Dennis Aaron.
Viewing and Services will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5850 Buncombe Road, Shreveport, LA on Saturday December 2, 2017 at 11:00am, with viewing from 10:00-11:00am. Graveside service to follow at Century Memorial 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, LA. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's honor to the Mexican Indian Training Center Mission (MITC) PO Box 19422, Shreveport, LA 71149-9422 (318) 686-9380.
The family would like extend a special Thank You to the caregivers and staff at Autumn Leaves of Flower Mound, Texas for the loving and compassionate care given to Bill these past three years.
