Services to honor the life of William “Bill” Dwight Miller, 82, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Kennedy officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Tuesday evening between the hours of 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bill was born on July 11, 1928, in Falcon, AR to the late Clayton and Maggie Miller and passed away on Friday, May 6, 2011. He retired from the U.S. Air Force on June 30, 1967, after 20 years of faithful service. Bill’s work history also included Ford Battery Plant, Great Southern Supply, and General Motors. He was a proud member of the UAW and the UAW retirees.
Preceding him in death are two daughters, Cheryl and Linda Miller; two sisters, Pat Barron and Kaye Desoto; and his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mrs. Mary Miller; daughter, Valerie Chewning and husband, Dudley; granddaughter, Michelle Vrana and husband, John; grandson, Austin Chewning; great-grandson, Miller Vrana; special friend, Mary Alice Milford; adopted family, Terry, Peggy, Jason, Toby, and Ann Hargrave; special cousin, Max Miller; and siblings, Joyce Shackleford, P.C. “Sonny” Miller, Eddie Hawthorne, Sandra Hooker, Carolyn Gorman, Marilyn Oney, and Gary Hawthorne.
Honoring Mr. Miller as pallbearers are Dudley Chewning, Austin Chewning, John Vrana, Terry Hargrave, Toby Hargrave, Alfred “Mickey” Meshell, John Zavalydriga, and Jerry Guillot. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. John Brady.
The family would especially like to acknowledge Dr. John Brady and his staff, Denise, Teresa, and Peggy for all of their loving care over the past few years as well as the staff of Thompson’s Home Healthcare with special thanks to Krystal and RaShonda. Thank you all.
