Aubrey Hilton Tanner

TANNER, Aubrey Hilton “Puppy Tanner” - 89, Latties Brook, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Sagewood Continuing Care, Lower Sackville. Born in East Indian Road, he was a son of the late William and Janet (Lively) Tanner. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Aubrey was a woodsman and farmer, who loved animals and children. He enjoyed being on the mountain, where he like to spend time fishing, hunting, gardening, playing his harmonica and watching sunsets. He will be sadly missed by children, Mary Anne (Calvin) Bonang, Lower Sackville; Burchill (Patty) Tanner, Williams Lake, BC; James (Theresa) Tanner, Bass River; Timmy (Sharon) Tanner, Portapique, Tommy (Anita) Tanner, Lorneville; Maurice (Jackie) Tanner, Glenholme; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister-in-law Margaret Tanner, Spryfield; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his former wife and friend Mary (Burton), son Lionel Hilton Tanner, granddaughter Heather, grandson Gregory, several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 6-8pm today at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, from where funeral service will be held 2pm, Wednesday, M. Dale Crawford officiating. Interment will be in Preeper Hill Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Butterfly Cottage, Sagewood Continuing Care for their compassion and kindness.
