

BROWN, Avery Leo – 78, Truro, formerly of Mill Village, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2012 at Townsview Estates in Truro. Born in West Indian Road, he was a son of the late James and Cora (Vaughan) Brown. Some of his life experiences were working for Riversdale Lumber mill, Irving Oil and running his own Irving garage in Hilden for years. He was involved in the metal fabrication industry before retiring. After retiring, Avery was a great help to his sister Cora, and they enjoyed the time spent together. Avery also liked to play a little guitar with his friends while at their camp, enjoying their companionship. Avery is survived by sons, Robert Brown, Rodger Brown and daughters Karen Harvey all of Truro; Jane Brown, Amherst; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sisters Cora Etter and Phyllis Thompson; ex-wife Shirley. He will also be missed by best friends Mitt and Theresa Redmond. He was predeceased by brothers Arthur, Acil and Jimmy and a sister Shirley. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A graveside service will be held 2pm, Monday, April 23, 2012 for family and friends at Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village, M. Dale Crawford DLM officiating.
