

EVANS, Effie Myrtle – 88, Mill Village, Hants County, passed away at the Magnolia Nursing Home, Enfield on December 30, 2012. Born in MacPhees Corner, she was a daughter of the late David and Bertha (Moore) Clarke. Effie lived all her life in MacPhees Corner and Mill Village area. She spent all her life in service to others. She loved her family and friends; especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her home was always open to family and friends to come and enjoy a cup of tea and her homemade donuts. Effie is survived by her daughter Darlene (Evans) Hynes, Mill Village; sons Gary (Olive) Evans, Halifax; and Dale (Sue), Shubenacadie; grandchildren Scott (Claire), Matthew, Andrew (Kim), Adam (Jody), Aaron (Pam) Evans, Megan (Shane) and Chad Hynes; great grandchildren Sierra, River, Maddex, Addison and Dawson Evans, Nevaeh, Journey Johnston; extended family Patrick Tovell, Mark (Tara) children Tristan, Noah and Brady; sister Pearl (Alan) Barbrick; brothers Marshall (Shirley) Hutt, Truro; Elmer Hutt, Great Village; and Gerald (Cathy) Hutt, Windsor; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years James, son Darrell, brothers Haliburton, George, Leland, Vincent Clarke, Kenneth and Orie Hutt; sisters Jean, Dorothy Clarke, Sadie Hutt and others in infancy. Visitation 2-4 & 7-9pm Thursday with funeral service 2pm Friday, January 4, both in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2,Shubenacadie, M. Dale Crawford officiating.
