

THURROTT, Eileen Mary (Blackmore) -71, of Stewiacke, passed away peacefully early Monday morning at home with her loving family. Born in Truro, May 1, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Murray & Edna (Webb) Blackmore. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Fred, children Bruce (Germaine) Stony Plains, AB; Fred (Sue), Stewiacke; Gail (Jamie) Clarke, East Port L’Herbert; Tony (Vickie) Redcliff, AB; sister Faye (Alfred) Deuville, Truro; and brother Robert (Marilyn) Taylor, Kitchener, ON; as well as 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, 3 aunts and an uncle and numerous cousins. Along with her parents she was predeceased by her great grandson Liam Boehner. Eileen was an employee of Stewiacke Pharmasave for 20 years. She belonged to the A.C.W. of Holy Trinity Anglican Church and was a longtime member of McLeave Rebecca Lodge #75, Stewiacke and Cresent Rebecca Lodge #28, Shubenacadie. She loved to bowl, play cards, knit and crochet. She loved to spend time at her cottage in Brule. At this time the family would like to thank the medical staff of the Truro hospital for their care. A special thank-you to Dawn Martell and Dr. Courtney Smith of Palliative Care and the VON for their support which allowed Eileen to be at home with her family as she wished. Visitation 2-4 & 7-9 Wednesday with a Rebekah Memorial Service at 6:30pm , Funeral service 3 pm, Thursday all in the Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. Lloyd Ripley officiating. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East. Family flowers only and donations may be made to the Red Cross, Palliative Care or the VON.
