

Arrangements under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, NS. WEATHERHEAD, Gilbert “Gib” James, Upper Rawdon, August 10, 1930 – October 6, 2010, passed away suddenly, October 6, 2010 as a result of a logging accident. Gib was born in Upper Rawdon, a son of the late J. Thomas and Ruth Estelle (Gilbert) Weatherhead. He was a farmer and woodsman in Upper Rawdon his entire life and influenced lives by providing the first job for many students. He is survived by brothers Ronald “Bud” (Nancy), Keith (Annie), Richard “Dick” (Elsbeth); sisters Bessie, Wilma Duncan, and Verna (Harry) Chernoff; sister-in-law Doreen. He was “Uncle Gib” to numerous nieces and nephews. Gib was predeceased by his parents and nephew Danny Weatherhead , and son-in-law G. Art Duncan. Visitation 2-4 & 7-9, Monday, with funeral service 3pm, Tuesday, both in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Hwy 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. Angus MacDonald officiating. Interment in Upper Rawdon Cemetery.Donations in memory of Gib may be made to either the Danny Weatherhead Memorial Scholarship Fund, making Cheques to Hants North Prize Fund and mailing to Hants North Rural High School 4369 Hwy 236 Kennetcook N.
