

WEEKS, Herman – 87, Elmsdale, passed away at home December 9, 2010. Born in Thomson Station, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Myrtle (Moran) Weeks. He was a veteran of WWII, serving overseas in the 4th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards in the liberation of Holland. After the war he remained in the Army in the occupation of Germany . When he returned home, he went into business with his father operating Weeks Construction and built homes in the first phase of Clayton Developments. He retired from Piercey’s when he was 67. He enjoyed cottage life at Marshville, Pictou County relaxing and entertaining with family and friends. Herman was a faithful member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Elmsdale. Surviving are daughters Cheryl Boutilier (Ken), Fall River; Wanda MacInnes (Bruce), Dartmouth; son Terry Weeks, Dartmouth; grandchildren Pam Edmonds (Alan), Hammonds Plains, Heather Pinkham (Jason), Coddles Harbour; Susan Duzak (Darryl), Dartmouth; Anna Weeks, Fall River; great grandchildren Vanessa and Sam Edmonds, Dylan and Spencer Pinkham and Nathan Duzak; sister Zella Handley (Bill), Dartmouth; step brother Dayrl Burgess (Judy), Fletchers Lake and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie Forshner and brother Sherman. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A Celebration of his life and Legion Tribute will be held 11 am, Tuesday, December 14, at the Royal Canadian Legion, Elmsdale with Rev Canon David Fletcher officiating.
