

HORNE, Hubert "Ubby” – 81, Enfield, passed away on January 6, 2012, at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late William and Teresa (MacDonnell) Horne. Hubert resided in Enfield for the majority of his life, but as a young man worked in the Yukon in the mining industry before returning home and becoming an employee of Nova Scotia Light and Power where he worked as a lineman for over 31 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, also an aviation enthusiast, who enjoyed flying with his brothers in their aircraft during his younger years. Hubert is survived and will be sadly missed by son Jeffrey (Lisa), beloved granddaughters Kaylea and Emmalee; sisters Veronica Connelly (Dennis), Windsor; Sister Marie of Carmel of St. Joseph, St. Agatha, Ontario; brother Edmund “Sandy”, Enfield. He was predeceased by wife Irene (Doucette); brothers Bennett, Anthony, Daniel and Patrick, sisters Dorothy, Rose and Marjorie. No visitation by request. Funeral Mass 11am. Tuesday, January 10, 2012, in St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, Enfield, Father Andrew Rembarczyk O.M.I. officiating. Interment will be in St. Bernard’s Parish Cemetery, Enfield. A reception following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
