Murray Douglas Beattie

BEATTIE, Murray Douglas – 85, Maitland, passed away at home on Thursday, September 30, 20l0. Born in South Maitland, he was a son of the late John Alexander and Gladys (Archibald) Beattie. Murray worked in the trucking business in his earlier years. He also owned and operated Beattie’s Service Station for nearly 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pauline (Hennigar), daughter Carole, Sackville; son Steven, Fall River; granddaughter Sarah, Fall River; brothers, Dawson (Claire) Beattie, Charles (Helen) Beattie, both of Maitland; John, Debert; sisters Helen (Henry) Hartlen, Sackville; Caroline (Gus) Ratchford, US.; Linda (Laurie) Bartlett, Riverside. He was predeceased by brother Clifford and sister Thelma. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 2pm, Monday in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Maitland, Rev Beverley DeVouge officiating. Private family committal following the church service.
