Ralph Douglas Meadows

MEADOWS, Ralph Douglas – 75, Hilden formerly of Stewiacke, passed away on May 10, 2012 in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Charles Robert and Thelma Jean (McLeod) Meadows. He had 48 years service with Canada Post doing Rural Delivery. Ralph loved the outdoors, fishing, forestry and farming were a big part of his life. Ralph served on the Shubenacadie River Canal Commission. He served as a Stewiacke Town Councilor. Ralph was a sports fanatic, both as an athlete and coach, including hockey, baseball and badminton. He will be sadly missed by his wife Millie, daughters Jean (Kevin) Jollota, Stewiacke; Patricia Anne (Malcolm) Meadows-Younger, Valley; son Timothy George Meadows, Stewiacke; step children, Michael and Larry Condran, Dartmouth; Donna Summers (Wayne) Beaverbank; grandchildren Thomas Jollota, Ethan Meadows-Younger, Darren (Wendy) Summers, Matthew (Erin) Summers, Nicole Condran (Carl), Katrina Condran; great grandchildren Carl and Cartina Condran; sister Carol (Robert) Forrester, Stewiacke; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be also missed by many friends who made up his extended family. He was predeceased by wife Clare Frances (Brine) Meadows and a sister Ola Jean in infancy. Visitation 2-4 & 7-9pm on Monday with funeral service 2 pm, Tuesday both in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, M. Dale Crawford DLM officiating.
